Let me add a written endorsement of Fire and Knowledge to my listing the link at right. I particularly enjoyed the Annie Dillard quote at top today (Oct 26), but there’s lots of good stuff in here.
He quotes Annie Dillard: “[The writer] is careful of what she learns, because that is what she will know.”
Lots of soil there to turn over, and lots of good stuff under the surface. Should we be “careful” of what we learn? What things will be bad to know? Granted, Dillard is talking specifically about writers, but is there a broader application–to Christians, for instance?
