Happy Real President’s Day

After this week’s commercial holiday, I thought it worthwhile to wish George Washington, the first president of the United States of America, a happy 275th birthday.

Side note: Did you know that our country had 14 chief executives before Washington? From the First Continental Congress, convened before our declaration of independence in 1774, to the ratification of the Constitution in 1789, these men served as presidents of Congress. They include such well-known men as John Jay (first Chief Justice) and two-termer John Hancock, a signer of the Declaration.
